Massage for pain and injury relief

Each course of care is customised to effectively reduce both chronic and acute pain, address injuries (whether sports-related or not), and improve scar tissue release within 1-6 sessions.

What to Expect:

During our first session, we’ll conduct a thorough consultation and postural assessment. This helps to co-create a personalised treatment plan tailored to your specific needs. As an advanced Myofascial Release and Sports Massage therapist, I take an integrative approach and focus on working with fascia and structural fascial bodywork to help reduce pain and promote recovery.

  • Myofascial Release & Structural Fascial Bodywork

  • Sports massage & Soft Tissue Release (STR)

  • Scar Tissue Release - including post-surgery scars (e.g., C-sections, mastectomies)

  • Stretching and self-myofascial release at home

What is Fascia?

Fascia is the body’s tough connective tissue that surrounds every muscle, bone, organ, and even nerves. In a healthy state, fascia moves freely, but scar tissue, injuries, and trauma can restrict its movement. These restrictions can lead to chronic pain, postural imbalances, and an increased risk of injury.

How Does Myofascial Release and Structural integration Work?

Myofascial techniques are categorised into two types:

  • Direct: Working with the fascia to move and realign tissues, often without using oil.

  • Indirect: Following the body's natural movements to release restrictions, allowing the fascia to "unwind"

By using advanced techniques like Rolfing and structural integration*, we can release fascia that is ‘stuck’ and reduce pain, promoting long-term relief.

Breaking the Pain Cycle

I am particularly passionate about the connection between pain, trauma, and the body’s hyperviglinace "fight, flight, or freeze" response. Chronic pain and emotional trauma often create a cycle that affects both physical and mental health. Myofascial release can be a powerful tool to help break this pain cycle, restoring balance in both the body and mind.
