Pregnancy & Postnatal Massage
Over the years I’ve had the pleasure of working with many lovely bumps of all sizes! As a mother of two, I understand firsthand the physical and emotional changes that women go through during pregnancy and postpartum.
While pregnancy can be a joyful time, it often brings discomfort, especially in areas like the lower back, fascial tension and sciatica. Feelings of anxiety are also common and can contribute to a cycle of pain. I believe mental health is essential, and I approach each session with empathy and understanding. These emotions can stem from past or current trauma, anxiety about the birth, or pre/postnatal depression.
As with all my treatments, I combine various techniques to successfully reduce pain, enhance mental well-being, and promote deep relaxation. Myofascial Release is particularly effective and safe for working with restrictions and tension within the body, reducing trauma, and easing pain during both pregnancy and postnatal.
You will be comfortably positioned on your side during the session, and I will provide self-care advice for home use after every treatment.
Massage can begin from your second trimester and continue all the way through to birth and beyond!
C-Section - Scar Tissue Release
C-sections can create significant fascial tension that affects the body’s structure as it heals. This can restrict movement and, over time, lead to referred pain and further fascial tension. Myofascial Release techniques applied directly to the scar can be incredibly effective in releasing both structural and emotional fascial restrictions.
It’s important that the scar is fully healed before scar tissue release treatment can begin. For C-sections, this typically occurs around 10 weeks after your GP check-up, though this timeframe may vary. A thorough consultation will be completed beforehand to ensure safe and effective treatment.
